TERNERO OLIVE OIL

South Placer County was once covered in olive orchards and Felipe and Lisa Ternero are honored to help bring the industry back to the region. A producer of award-winning olive oils, soaps and skincare, Ternero Farms is one of the only bottlers that grows its own fruit, a nod to the quality that is at the forefront of the family business.

In addition to orchards in Estepa, Spain, the Terneros farm an experimental ten-acre orchard in Lincoln that seeks to capitalize on the region’s climate and topography to grow olive varieties such as kalamata, arbequina, picual, frantoio, leccino and taggiasca. Visitors are welcome during posted hours and by appointment for on-site sampling and learning about the production process and health benefits of olive oil.

NEW BREWERY TO WATCH:
SLICE BEER CO.

CULTURE OF FRESH

Slice Beer Co. debuts as Placer’s newest brewery to hit the scene. “Culture of Fresh” is their motto and signifies excellence, freshness, and quality.

Hand-picked, high-quality ingredients and soft local water will lay the foundation for creating approachable and exciting beers. Hop-forward beers will take center stage, in addition to big stouts, with classic styles rounding out the lineup for this 10-barrel brewhouse. At 120 barrel fermentation capacity, small batches and hands-on attention guarantee freshness with each pour.

Head Brewer and co-owner, Zack Frasher, a well-respected brewer known for hoppy, eclectic and award-winning beers, started as a homebrewer and quickly gained national notoriety on a professional level. Along the way, he met partner Russ Yeager, co-owner and marketing director of Old Town Pizza and the two formed a true brew bond. Russ brought craft beer culture to OTP – their Roseville location is a now a highly-respected destination. Together, the two are excited to be part of the community and to focus on making great beer.

Slice makes it’s home next door to OTP’s newly relocated and renovated Lincoln location. Although separate businesses, the two neighbors will surely bring beer and pizza together in more ways than one. The intimate taproom invites you to meet up with friends and savor that “culture of fresh.” Pull up a bar stool or take home crowlers and growlers to go.
